This Is How Dogs Show Gratitude

A homeless pup There once was an abandoned pup roaming the street I lived on. This fella would have been around six months old at the time. Whenever I passed him, I would feel sorry and offer him some food (if I had any).  Kindness of people A few months passed, and now he has been taken in by the kind monks at the Buddhist Temple opposite the top of my lane. He now has a nice red belt around his neck and looks happy and content. An act of gratitude to remember One morning when I was standing by the main road (Opposite the Temple) for my office transport to arrive, I saw this dog. He crossed the road (using the pedestrian crossing very carefully) and walked towards me. Then he kept his paw on my shoe and looked up at me as if to say, “Hi there, how are you? I remember you! I am doing good as you can see” I patted his head for a brief few seconds. Then off he went back to the temple proudly and happily. Not all people will remember your kind deeds, but one thing is for

Uncharted Waters | Lockdown 2020 | Look on the bright side!

Curfew will be imposed for a day or two was what we all heard initially and never in our wildest dreams thought that days would turn into weeks and weeks into months! These are unprecedented times and we have no choice but to face the reality of how things are. There are moments we think about the good times we had during pre-COVID-19 and start grumbling about the predicament we are in and guess what? That is fine! I would like to shed light on a few things that I am going through which probably you can relate to reasonably well. Under house arrest This is probably what someone who is under house arrest feels like. We aren’t allowed to step out of the house (being very cynical here), we can’t go on our regular drives, we can’t go partying, we can’t eat out, we can’t go shopping and yes- the list goes on! Implications More time to think means for some of us – more time to OVERTHINK (myself included). This is something we should be mindful of as we may tend to “make a mount

The Power of Discipline

You would be amazed if I told you that discipline will get you where you want to go. As a twenty-five year-old who’s working full time (from home these days during lockdown!) and managing a few other things I’m passionate about, I have noticed that if one thing helped me achieve something I really wanted, that one thing is discipline. Consistency is key Be it work related, fitness-related or any other goal you want to achieve, you need to be focused and do what you have to do when you have to do it. Consistency is key and your actions don’t necessarily have to be mind-blowing or extra-significant to have an impact. In contrast, if you keep doing little things that help you get closer to what you want such as reading one chapter of a particular subject a day, doing 25 push-ups every morning, going for that relaxing weekend jog or spending time with your beloved family, these little actions will add up over time to create a very positive impact in your life as well as the li

Hitting Rock Bottom is a good thing! Here’s Why

It’s another “Make or Break” moment and what are you going to choose? Faced with such a situation you can’t really think clearly and it’s hard to make any decision to be honest. However, I want you to reflect on some dark times in your life where you hit rock bottom and locked yourself up in a “state of no return”. Now, think about where you are right now and ask yourself if that moment in life made you stronger or not. Truth is Bitter As much as we love to turn back time and make things right, we can’t. This is reality and we need to accept that. Acceptance for me has led the way to the path of healing. Hitting Rock Bottom Now, I will be very honest with you. I’ve hit rock bottom a countless number of times and every single time I have been very hard on myself (which is not fair to do) and I’ve felt as though I have no point in living anymore. This isn't right and let's see how I overcame these needless thoughts and feelings. Break the chain  I did mana
