Dealing with Negativity

Although, I keep harping on the fact that you should be positive and avoid any negativity (in my articles), over the past few days I was overwhelmed by negative thoughts. It was such a painful realization to comprehend that no matter how much I tried, I kept falling down the spiraling stairs of negativity.
Everything seemed to annoy me and I mean everything! Now I really understand what some of you may be going through. I guess we just need to go through the feelings without trying to suppress them or force ourselves to be positive (because sometimes, It is not that simple).
Don't Force Positivity
What I realized is that there are some situations where you need to let yourself go through all those negative emotions and not force positivity in there. That said, this should not be a prolonged measure. For me, it took me about 3-4 days to get over the negative thoughts (around a lot of things). But then I made a conscious decision that I would keep track of how my thoughts take shape and if I don’t see negativity going away gradually, I should step in and take control to get rid of it.
Talk To A Friend Or Simply Write It Down
To be honest I am still dealing with some negative thoughts as I write this article, but it does help to put your emotions into an article.if you prefer to write in your diary, do that. I guess it’s a good way to vent out your frustration and channel all that negativity out of your system.
Sharing personal experiences will help others going through similar situations too. If you have felt down and out over the past few weeks do share your thoughts with me if you feel like it and I will combine all your thoughts into an article which can help more and more people fight negativity and come out stronger!
The Yin-Yang
Also, have you heard of the Yin-Yang? If you haven't check it out. If we live by the Yin Yang, things start to make more sense and it will help relive our burden as we start to understand that not every bad situation is 100% "Bad" and that not every good situation is 100% "Good" to put it simply.
Do let me know how you overcome negativity (in the comments). I'd be excited to know! :)

A looming energy crisis or one step closer to sustainability?

The impact would be devastating if we don’t prepare for what I am going to tell you about. This is just a thought that came to my mind while I was peering out of my window one hot sunny morning during lockdown (29 th of April 2020 to be precise). I was procrastinating every time my mind told me that I should put my phone and laptop to charge and it so happened that we lost the electricity supply for a short time. My mind was full of regrets now. Thankfully though, the electricity came back within minutes. Putting this into perspective The household energy and water consumption levels are probably at extremely high levels with all family members forced to stay home due to Covid-19. You cannot deny the fact that the majority of us rely on our electronic devices such as our “can’t do without mobile phones”, laptops, TVs, fans, air conditioning (If we are lucky), Wi-Fi routers, etc. etc. I am not going to ask you whether you can afford to do without any one of the...

Her Kindness Towards Animals Truly Inspires Me

Sahana Ravishankar is an Attorney-at-Law by profession who has an undying passion for helping all kinds of animals. Especially cats and dogs. I first connected with her on Facebook about a year or so back after seeing a post about two pups who were rescued and needed "furrever homes" as she affectionately refers to it. Feeding the hungry Most of her good deeds revolve around feeding street dogs and cats who would otherwise more or less suffer of starvation and die. Her feeding rounds are regular and require so much effort to carry out. My mom and I once gave a small treat to five street doggies a few months back and that required quite a bit of effort. Buying the food, transporting it, finding the dogs, giving them the food without inconveniencing the public, and ensuring you leave no waste behind. It's a process! Adoption and Re-homing Not only feeding, she adopts helpless cats and dogs too. Caring for them until she finds people she can trust to take care of ...
