Her Kindness Towards Animals Truly Inspires Me

Sahana Ravishankar is an Attorney-at-Law by profession who has an undying passion for helping all kinds of animals. Especially cats and dogs. I first connected with her on Facebook about a year or so back after seeing a post about two pups who were rescued and needed "furrever homes" as she affectionately refers to it.

Feeding the hungry

Most of her good deeds revolve around feeding street dogs and cats who would otherwise more or less suffer of starvation and die. Her feeding rounds are regular and require so much effort to carry out. My mom and I once gave a small treat to five street doggies a few months back and that required quite a bit of effort. Buying the food, transporting it, finding the dogs, giving them the food without inconveniencing the public, and ensuring you leave no waste behind. It's a process!

Adoption and Re-homing

Not only feeding, she adopts helpless cats and dogs too. Caring for them until she finds people she can trust to take care of them for the rest of their lives.

it's a lot of work

This can have a massive toll on anyone due to the physical and mental stress as well as fatigue and not to forget the bills to pay!

Support

The only thing I have been doing over the past many months is send her encouraging notes whenever she posts something related to this work she does. It is obvious that similar efforts by others to encourage her goes a long way, but there's nothing like supporting this cause by being physically present, helping with logistics and expenses.

Call to Action

My main motive of this post is to encourage people to show kindness towards animals in general and help these kinds of causes even in the smallest of ways. To me this selfless acts worthy of mention go a long way. There's so much "good" left in the world which needs to be noticed and ackowledged to say the least!
